Point32Health, the corporate parent of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Tufts Health Plan, said in April that the threat impacted systems that are used to service customers, accounts, brokers, and providers, officials said. It proactively took certain systems offline to contain the threat out of an “abundance of caution” after “detecting an unauthorized party.”
“Unfortunately, the investigation identified signs that data was copied and taken from our Harvard Pilgrim systems from…

How health care teams can help people with bedbugs: a patient’s perspective
As a patient with very low vision, chronic heart failure, type 2 diabetes, weight management concerns and fluctuating hemoglobin levels, it is difficult to not have feelings of isolation, poor body image and self-blame that impact my mental health and wellness. These feelings also impact my honesty and relationship with my primary care team. Being afraid that I’ll be looked down on is one of the main factors that makes me not want to share information with them.
A few months ago, I disclosed that I had a bed bug infestation by my family doctor and nurse practitioner who visited…
NS claims progress in reducing surgical wait times
The Nova Scotia government is claiming progress on its promise to reduce wait times for surgical procedures based on an almost 1,900 increase in the number of operations completed during the 2022-23 fiscal year, compared to 2019-20.
The arrival of COVID-19 in March 2020 dramatically reduced the number of surgeries and other medical procedures that were done in the province, and subsequent Omicron and Delta variants also triggered surgical slowdowns.
Nova Scotia Health and Wellness Minister Michelle Thompson called the increase in the number of surgeries “a very positive sign” on Friday.
“We know there’s still more to do but…
Why You Should Stop Eating Fake Sugars, According to the World Health Organization
As a teen and young adult, I drank a lot of full-sugar sodas—Mountain Dew, mostly. I stuck to my promise, and you know how many pounds I lost, changing nothing else about my diet? Zeros.
I still don’t drink full-sugar sodas. (I am now, like my colleague Claire Lowera member of the Diet Coke cult.) But I understand on a gut level why…

No wonder you’re so parched after that ham sandwich!
When you think of hydration, your mind might immediately go to what kinds of beverages you are (and aren’t) drinking. But did you know that the foods you eat can also have a major impact on your hydration status? While some foods contribute to our overall hydration, adding water themselves and/or electrolytes (which help the body regulate and circulate water), others can actually have a dehydrating effect, requiring us to play catch-up to make up for those losses. But what makes food dehydrating, and what are some of the top culprits…
Couple killed at Texas mall shooting along with 3-year-old son met in Boston, had ‘perfect synergy’
DALLAS (AP) — Kyu Cho had a generous spirit and joyful belly laugh that delighted his friends. His wife, Cindy Cho, was quieter, described by those who knew her as sweet and kind. Together, the parents of two young sons complement each other perfectly, strong in their faith and devoted to family and friends.
