A former Arsenal academy player was left a tetraplegic after his drink was “spiked” on a night out.
Daniel Cain was a fit and healthy footballer and a qualified electrician but after a night out with friends, the 23-year-old was hit by a “life-changing travesty” as a cardiac arrest starved his brain of oxygen.
On the night out on 9 June 2020, Daniel’s friends noticed he looked a “funny color” and was not waking up so attempted to perform CPR on him while the ambulance was called.
Daniel is a qualified engineer and has worked on Google Offices in Germany…

The 30 Most Miserable Countries in the World – 24/7 Wall St.
Lebanon is facing a crippling economic crisis that has caused a shocking jump in poverty and food insecurity in recent years. Plummeting economic activity, roiling political instability, and skyrocketing inflation following decades of governmental mismanagement by sectarian elites have turned a scenic country that was once called the “Switzerland of the Middle East” into a land of economic despair for much of the country’s population. (No wonder it’s one of the countries where at least half the population wants to move away.)
These challenging conditions have helped push Lebanon near the bottom of a list of the world’s 137 “happiest”…

However, a study published in August 2021 in Mayo Clinic Proceedings better coincided with the federal guidelines. It found that people who exercised between 2.6 and 4.5 hours a week (156 to 270 minutes) had the most improvement in life expectancy. They were about 50 percent less likely to die in a 25-year period than those who didn’t exercise.
Interestingly, the mortality benefits diminished in those who exercised more than 10 hours a week, says coauthor James O’Keefe, MD, director of preventive cardiology at the St. Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute.
O’Keefe recommends shooting for 30 to 55 minutes of…

Initially started with small changes, following healthy habits can help us achieve our desired health and fitness goals efficiently. As such, dietitian Manpreet suggested replacing a few food items from our kitchens with healthier alternatives.
Processed vegetable oil with cold-pressed virgin oils
Processed vegetable oil, commonly used in our kitchen, is laden with chemicals and is high in polyunsaturated fats. Consumption of vegetable oil…
How To Lose The Extra Kilos In A Week
The biggest mistake we make when we make the decision to finally start this diet that can make our lives a little harder, is that we lean on things that end up bringing us the opposite results. What are we trying to say? A smart tip if you want to lose excess weight in a few days is not to frantically avoid sweets and carbohydrates, but to drop small “bad” habits. Is healthy life expectancy in Northern Ireland almost ten years lower than in Ireland?
Healthy life expectancy (HLE) is the number of years a person can expect to live in good health: for NI, the current estimate for HLE is around 62 years while, for Ireland, it is 69.4 years
However, Northern Ireland uses a different definition of good health, meaning direct comparisons between the two figures are ill-advised
Analysis of other HLE estimates indicates the gap between NI and ROI is nowhere near ten years
On 4 March, Irish Times columnist David McWilliams claimed:
“The average person in the Republic can expect to live a healthy life for almost a full decade longer…
What are the secrets to a long, healthy life? — Extension and Ag Research News
I was thinking about longevity the other day. Who doesn’t want a long, healthy life?
As I sipped my coffee at church, I was thinking about a research project we are launching at North Dakota State University. I have included the online survey link with this column.
My 90-plus-year-old church coffee buddy stopped by and joined us at our table. She usually comments on my column of the week.
She inspires me. She lives on her own, drives herself to church and is always dressed stylishly. She’s very witty too.
“How do you come up with new ideas for your…
