The health insurance provider sent notices to customers earlier this month.
CHARLOTTE, NC — UnitedHealthcare insurance customers in North Carolina will want to double check their mailboxes to see if their data was affected by a breach that happened earlier this year.
The provider said it identified suspicious activity on the UHC mobile application on Feb. 22, 2023 that may have led to the disclosure of member information. About two weeks later, UnitedHealthcare determined certain parts of customer information were likely to impact. However, the provider stressed Social Security Numbers and driver’s license numbers were not involved.

There is a fresh spring in the steps of Dr. Paul Saba lately and it has nothing to do with the season.
The family physician at Lachine Hospital is feeling vindicated after the Quebec College of Physicians dropped its ethics probe against him.
“It’s a big relief,” Dr. Saba told Global News.
The College of Physicians dismissed the case after the complainant, Dr. Pierre Gfeller, the former CEO of the McGill University Health Center (MUHC), withdrew his accusations against Dr. Sabbath.
