Nurses who worked full-time in the past year are getting a $10,000 bonus for remaining on the job, Nova Scotia’s premiere announced Monday.
“How can we show you, how can we show nurses and health care professionals the same level of commitment that you show us?” Premier Tim Houston said at a news conference at Dartmouth General Hospital. “How can we say thank you? How can we recognize your sacrifice?”

More than 300 internationally educated health-care professionals have accepted job offers to work in Manitoba.
Our provincial Health Minister provided an update Tuesday afternoon on the results from a recent recruitment mission to the Philippines. Audrey Gordon said last November, her government implemented the Health Human Resource Action Plan to retain, train and recruit 2,000 health-care staff across our province.
As part of the recruitment plan, our provincial government and Shared Health sent a delegation to the Philippines earlier this year. The goal of this delegation was to attract registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and health care aids.

New research has revealed for the first time that well-functioning ecosystems are crucial to human health and well-being, with human-biodiversity interactions delivering well-being gains equating to substantial health care cost-savings, when scaled-up across populations.
