The commission that manages British Columbia’s $2.5-billion health-care system is no longer seeking a court injunction against a program operated by Telus that charged thousands of dollars a year for access to care, the province’s health minister says.
Adrian Dix said at a news conference on Wednesday that the Medical Services Commission (MSC), which oversees BC’s public health insurance program, and Telus Health’s LifePlus program had settled their dispute and the program is now in compliance with the Medicare Protection Act.
“This is how we act to protect health-care services in BC,” said Dix at a news conference in Victoria…
Did you ever wonder why it is easier to gain weight than keeping it off?
The key to this is in the fat cells where a powerful hormone is produced called leptin. Leptin signals the brain to regulate the metabolism in order to store or burn fat.

Minority health care needs a check-up. Health disparities can and do kill people. The vaccine mandate for health-care workers remains in effect.
“We’re at a point now where we can change some of the restrictions in health-care settings,” said Henry from Victoria. “Masking remains a very important tool in the health-care setting, and health-care workers will still wear masks based on their risk assessments.
