Gov. Beshear signs measure expanding access to health care

FRANKFORT, Ky. (WBKO) – Gov. Andy Beshear was joined by health care leaders and lawmakers today in the Capitol Rotunda for a bill-signing ceremony honoring the passage of legislation that expands health care services for Kentuckians. The measure, House Bill 75, also supports Kentucky’s hospitals by boosting Medicaid payment rates for outpatient procedures performed at hospitals. More than 300 internationally educated health-care professionals have accepted job offers to work in Manitoba. Our provincial Health Minister provided an update Tuesday afternoon on the results from a recent recruitment mission to the Philippines. Audrey Gordon said last November, her government implemented the Health Human Resource Action Plan to retain, train and recruit 2,000 health-care staff across our province.
