The Board of Health holds meeting in Millersport
The Fairfield County Board of Health held a meeting March 8 in the Millersport Schools District Auditorium. Members of the Board of Health are Steven Kapetansky, MD, MPH, President; Brian Oliver, President of ProTemp; Tina Childers and Teresa Wood. Time was given for public comments. People are discussing their shower habits again and debating how often they should bathe.
It started with a new today segment titled “How often should you…” that debuted July 18. The first topic was showering, which had Al Roker, Dylan Dreyer and Sheinelle Jones guessing how often per week a dermatologist might recommend that a person wash up. ShopToday editorial director Adrianna Brach shocked them all by saying that the “consensus is two to three times a week.”

Whether you have a family doctor or you’re looking for one, chances are you have had to endure long wait times to see them or find them.
Last year, the Angus Reid Institute reported there were six million Canadians without a family doctor, and a third of them said they had been searching for more than a year.

Sunscreen tips: How much to use and when to apply
As the summer season kicks off, many may find themselves increasingly exposed to the sun. Dr. Renee Beach, a dermatologist, told CTV’s Your Morning on Monday that without skin protection, this exposure can cause DNA damage, which could develop into skin cancer.
Beach says although many may only wear sunscreen in the summer, protecting the skin should be a “year-round thing.”
